Recognised for scotch whisky distilling in the past, tourism is now a major industry in Inverness. The city provides an excellent base to explore some world renowned tourist attractions such as the nearby Loch Ness, famed for its connections with the fabled Loch Ness monster or ‘nessie’ and also the site for the 18th century Battle of Culloden.
